A neighbor on the street where I live in San Miguel Allende, Mexico. Luis "working" carting adobe bricks at age 8, and on the street, 7 years later. His life has been shattered by drug abuse and alcholism, with a stint in jail for stabbing a man 15 times. (Photo: Ann Summa).
